This is an original art work (completed on 7/22/20).
The idea for this design is home decor where you can mix and match pillows, a tapestry, a duvet, or print, etc (all of these products are available in my shop), but this design is also a little less traditional than some others I have done especially with the brilliant turquoise background. At any rate, if you want to use this piece for home decor, I have included swatches of colors below, in case you want some solid colored products, or some matching products with these colors.
This piece might look nice in an area that looks out to a pool, in a beach house, in a place where you do Tarot readings (turquoise brings out intuition), in a store that sells turquoise jewelry, or an outdoor screened in porch where you might want to mix and match a blanket with some pillows.
Featured is a light colored heavily saturated turquoise with a kind of grafted tree of several different kinds of plants, typical of French folk art design. The rust colored leaves are reminiscent of late fall. Berries and butterflies adorn the design too.
Turquoise typically symbolizes grounding and intuition. It is both a calming color and an energizing color, especially in this bright tone. It is said to inspire loyalty.
The browns and rusts are more subduing colors and typically represent tradition, wholesomeness, dependability, and stability.
Red, of course, is the color of passion, passionate love as well as anger, and quickness/impulsivity. In this case, the red is concentrated in the berries and border and brightens up the piece and takes it out of its otherwise somber two-tone expression.
Some color swatches are listed below:
* light turquoise (from the center): #d1fdfe
* mid-range turquoise from outside the center: #61ecf1
* dark turquoise (taken from the top corners): #26b5bb
* rust color from the heart shaped leaves (lighter section): #dda95d
* tan color from stem and one plant's leaves: #f7dcc9
* darker rust color: #c25826
* red berries and border: #dd1e63
