This piece was made with my "blue period" in mind, a group of art works with dark blue and white, and often featuring butterflies, white trees or white lace. White butterflies can mean signs (symbols) of departed loved ones, as well as messengers of the spirit.
Navy blue has connotations of conservatism and the traditional, but spiritually it can either mean thoughts, events and feelings not yet revealed (and sometimes kept close to the chest). Navy can sometimes evoke feelings of calmness and tranquility, letting ones guard down, and is sometimes indicative of sleep, deep rumination, the unconscious and stillness.
White is indicative of innocence, purity, peace and spirituality.
When both white and navy are together, it has been said that it can inspire others to look inward as much as look outward.
Because there is a little bit of tan in the composition, it bears commenting on. Tan symbolizes neutrality, grounding, the home, the garden, and sensibility.
Light pink, of which there is a tiny bit, generally symbolizes innocent love, child-like love, playfulness, and unadulterated love.
This piece is great for any home decor products (you can buy pillows, tapestries, prints, duvet covers, blankets, towels and shower curtains in this shop). If you need solid colored items to match this piece (like pillows), I have included the swatches below:
* navy: #020f8c
* lighter tan: #e9dfe0
* mid-range tan: #ddcdd0
* darkest tan: #c3b2b8
* light pink: #e9e3f1
