This piece goes with my blue period pieces and is the only piece (so far) that is of abstract origins.
I also made this piece for home decor, particularly for people who like navy and white pillow designs, as well as duvets and prints (very popular). Instead of the usual images one finds with navy and white (particularly sea life, boats and anchors), I thought something a little more abstract might be of some use for those of you who are sick of the familiar in navy and white decor.
This piece features diamonds, a type of paisley and swirls for the border. It is all encapsulated by an outward border of light blue.
Prints, cards and totes will have my signature on them, but home decor projects will not.
I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece.
