Art inspired by the Renaissance, Celtic knots, fantasy art, and storybooks. I create traditional paintings, digital art and photograph knights, fair maidens, fairies, bagpipers, flowers and a few meadows too.

This photo was taken in Washington County, New York, about 6 miles from the Vermont border. This field is near Greenwich, NY, Cambridge, NY and Salem, NY on a back farm road.
The field of dandelions seemed to go on forever. It was a spectacular site when I came upon it and was much more panoramic and all-engulfing than I could capture in this photo.
This was a rare find. While dandelions are plentiful in the Spring in upstate, NY, I had never seen them so plentiful and lush.
Symbolism:
* dandelions: the sun, courage, pride, the lion, long lasting happiness, surviving through almost all challenges and difficulties, wishes fulfilled
* farm fields: cultivating, ideas, encouragement
* barn: non-conformist, resourcefulness, passion-driven, hard work and steady determination

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece. I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts,...

Hi Lise. This is a beautiful view of a beautiful farm. You have much nicer farms in upstate New York than my own family farm, in the flat boring Midwest! Robert.
Lise Winne replied:
Thanks, Robert. The midwest has its own beauty! :-)
