Artist's Description
My original intention for this design was to make greeting cards for "Autumn in general", and for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Then I thought the design might work as kitchen art, or for the dining room, which included dining facilities at nursing homes, schools, day care and clubs.
It also has a primitive quality that children might like.
So far, the design has sold well as greeting cards in tourist shops in my area, where buses of "leaf peepers" are unleashed out onto the streets of the small towns here. The larger cards do well as Halloween cards, and the mini ones are purchased as favors for the Thanksgiving table.
This piece of art is part of "The Bouquet Series." I started the series in 2001. Some of the rest of the series and why I started it can be seen on my blog post: http://lisewinne.blogspot.com/2016/02/photo-bouquet-series.html
About Lise Winne
I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece. I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts,...
