Artist's Description
A fully armored knight on a horse dressed in gold raises his sword. Behind him are stormy skies and farm fields.
This knight is reminiscent of the "knight of swords" in the Tarot deck.
Symbolism for Knight of Swords:
A can-do attitude, nothing will slow you down, go head-long into what you seek, strength, something desirable is coming your way (it can be unexpected). A warning to think carefully and clearly and look at all of the consequences.
General symbolism:
* knight: chivalry, honor, courage
* gold: wealth, grandeur, prosperity, courage, masculine
* silver: wealth, prosperity, peace, earthiness, feminine
* farm fields: cultivating, ideas, encouragement
* stormy clouds: emotional centered thinking, conflict, energy ... may mean holding on to grudges or emotions.
* medieval armor: status, ability to dodge harm, a shield from danger
* sword: power, protection, strength ... can mean discrimination
About Lise Winne
I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece. I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts,...
