This is part of my blue period art works, as well as part of my home decor works of abstract art. I made it square so it can be ordered here in my shop as a pillow. Order cotton or polyester pillows.
The petals on this beast look like something from an alien planet, thus "abstract design". Usually my paintings and designs look like semi throw-backs to the Renaissance or Victorian times, but this time I decided to make something modern looking while retaining a lot of the ornate qualities I am known for in my art.
I was actually inspired by the amoeba when designing this piece. Don't ask me why! Ha ha!
This is a monochromatic blue on blue piece (with some hints of purple). The border design is ornate and vine-like. There is also a circle of vine-like swirls in part of the piece. Little diamonds as well as the center diamond also populate the piece. And...
I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece.
