Description
This piece, like some of my latest designs and forays into abstract art, was made during the pandemic of 2020 in July (for some reason it inspired from me, works about fire).
This is meant to be minimalist abstract art, but it does hint at real life objects, thus semi-abstract art.
I picture this in a white-walled meditation room for some reason.
This came about through a number of artistic accidents It didn't start out as abstract art at all, but had a high amount of detail. I kept the detail and ditched the rest of it, preferring the simplicity that emerged from a number of disappointments. It just seemed to gel at this particular step, even though I tried to add to it.
I think the pandemic is about simplicity, as well as about 20/20 vision and intuition when looking in depth at the "stuff in our lives" (emotional, intellectually, physically, as a species, about our direction in life), about the simplicity and austerity of quarantine, and about fire frankly (the spreading of the disease "like wild fire", and the hot summer month of July when this was made).
It's my journal of the quarantine, if you will. But it is also a meditative piece in the tradition of Rothko.
