This autumn piece is rather monochromatic with its reds, oranges, golds, browns and rusts, and yet there are still butterflies lingering about from summer. Or maybe they have turned into moths. One appears that way.
These folk art pieces are my own original design, but I am using a tradition here of symmetry. This and the variations (home decor usually has variations on the same design) were made with home decor in mind, but for my own use, I am this particular design as greeting cards for October and Thanksgiving in the gift shops and galleries where I sell my work.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio.
