Featured is a fawn who is part of the white tailed deer family. He is flying through the night air with stars in the background with a doily on his back and a white lace-like bouquet emanating from the doily.
In making this piece, I thought about the fine lace and doilies of old Victorian decor.
This piece is presently for sale. It is a 24" x 24" acrylic painting on canvas, painted on all sides except the back. The sides are like the front in that it is painted dark blue with stars. It is presently in a gallery, but may not have sold, so inquire by using the contact if you are interested.
SYMBOLISM:
* fawn: spiritual authority, devotion to a higher cause, the ability to address all challenging situations in life. Can also represent a person who is gentle, innocent, peaceful, compassionate, and loving. A harbinger of longevity. In this context with the leaping fawn: joy.

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece. I have shown my work in galleries and through juried shows at art centers and museums. Some notables include The Delaware Art Museum, Haverford Center of the Arts,...

Can I be the first to go crazy over your new piece Lise? This painting is so total beautiful. I love the colors and the design. And the symbolism. A magical look about it that reminds me of a wonderful children's fairy tale book I once owned. It feels nostalgic. Good job!
Lise Winne replied:
How sweet! Thanks, Robert!
