A young chicken, perhaps a leghorn, stands on the ground in front of the millefleurs, while two white butterflies, and a blue and white striped butterfly dance around her. Perhaps, as the title suggests, they are muses.

This piece is part of my millefleurs series. Millefleurs in French means "millions of flowers" and the style found its height during the Renaissance period.

- white butterflies: spiritual messages, messages from those who have passed, purity, pure intentions, transformation
- white, blue, black butterfly: transformation, beginnings
- millefleurs: plenty, luxury, wealth

I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and a masters degree in Art Education. I used to be an art teacher and taught grades K - 12. In order to teach art in the public schools, I needed to learn a lot of mediums. I have carried this into my art studio as well, painting in one area of the studio and making altered digital photographs in another part of the studio. My primary mediums are painting, drawing, digital art, illustrations, cartoons, hand thrown pottery and relief sculpture. If you see pottery in my photographic work, it is my own hand-thrown piece.
