Description
Bog Meadow Brook Trail is just outside of Saratoga Springs, NY, and runs along some old, now defunct, railroad tracks next to a swamp and small brooks and streams. In my experience, it is not the most pleasant of walks as there are so many big garter snakes along the path that you practically step on them (and some slither right over your shoes too), in addition to poison ivy on both sides of the trail, and biting green headed horse flies -- ack! Not for the faint hearted! But it garnered some nice photos including this one which makes it "look" like an enchanting place, even if it is not.
Note that the tote bags and tee shirts for sale with this image in the product listings to the right have "Bog Meadow Brook Trail, Saratoga Springs, NY" on them

symbolism:
* bog: feelings that undermine confidence and well being
* meadow: reflection and recuperation
* snakes: it can mean evil, it can mean transformation, and it can mean medicine, depending on the context
* horse flies: a challenge to view ones own self image, an irritating and unwelcome message
